THIS  PUMPKIN TOOK FIRST PLACE   (IT WAS ENTERED IN THE AGE 9-16 DIVISION)

BY MARANDA WOOD  IN THE "MASTER GARDNERS" PUMPKIN CONTEST LAST

NIGHT DURING THE "FARMER'S MARKET" IN MAQUOKETA.    IT WAS A GOOD

TURN OUT WITH 17 ENTRIES.      IT WAS FINAL NIGHT FOR THE SEASON FOR THE

EVERY TUESDAY OUTDOOR MARKET,  DIRECTED WEEKLY BY VOLUNTEER TED STRAIT.



THE MAQUOKETA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TOOK PART IN A RIBBON CUTTING
CEREMONY YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT THE NEW CITIZEN'S STATE BANK
NEAR WALMART AT MAQUOKETA.     HOLDING THE SCIZZORS IN GRAY SWEATER, BREE KILBURG, ASSISTANT VICE-PRESIDENT, BRANCH MANAGER AND LOAN OFFICER.   TO RIGHT OF HER, CHRISTY CARR, CHAMBER MANAGER.    LEFT FRONT, TONY PORTZ, VICE-PRESIDENT.    RIGHT  FRONT, JIM THINES, PRESIDENT.      SECOND FROM RIGHT, BRANDI HOLST, TELLER.
