BACK OF MAIN BUILDING
THE WAREHOUSE.
IN LEFT CORNER, THE WEEKEND STORE
SELLING THIER PRODUCTS.
WAREHOUSE LOOKING TO WEST...A HUGE
BUILDING

BACK OF WAREHOUSE
ALL CLOSED DOWN TODAY

I TOOK ALL THESE PHOTOS TO SHOW YOU HOW BIG THE PLANT WAS.
STEVE SCHMUDDE HAS BEEN MANAGER
OF THIS PLANT FOR A LONG TIME.    THERE ARE ABOUT 9 OR 10 OTHER HOLLANDER PLANTSAROUND THE COUNTRY.
SAD NEWS FOR MAQUOKETA TODAY!
CHANGING TIMES...AN ECONOMY CONSOLIDATION MOVE...THIS  PLANT APPARENTLY NO LONGER PROFITABLE
LIKE IT WAS OVER THE YEARS.
AND FOR FRIEND AND GOOD KMAQ LISTENER KARLA BRUNS, WHO HAS WORKED AT THE PILLOW FACTORY, AS MANY CALLED IT, FOR 31 YEARS .....  SHE
WILL HAVE A CHANGE IN HER LIFE
AND A LASTING MEMORY.
MAQUOKETA WILL BE LOOKING FOR
A BUYER OF THE BUILDINGS AND
SOON ...  WORKERS AGAIN INSIDE THEM.
