THURSDAY DAILY

THE FINAL PHOTO (BY LOIS FISCHER) OF OUR KMAQ HALLWAY
WITH 423 JARS OF PEANUT BUTTER FOR THE MAQUOKETA
COMMUNITY CUPBOARD.   THE PHOTO TAKEN THIS  MORNING
JUST BEFORE THEY WERE LOADED INTO A PICKUP AND TAKEN
TO THE CUPBOARD BUILDIGN ON WEST PLATT STREET.
THE COMMUNITY CUPBOARD IS OPEN EVERY FRIDAY MORNING AND GIVE FOOD TO
ANYONE, NO QUESTIONS ASKED AND ANYWHERE BETWEEN 100 AND 150 STOP
IN.   THE FIRST KMAQ COLLECTED BUTTER GOES OUT TOMORROW MORNING AND
FUTURE FRIDAY MORNINGS UNTIL ALL IS GONE.    THIS WAS KMAQ'S 3RD YEAR
FOR THE PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE.   THE FIRST YEAR, 216 JARS WERE BROUGHT IN
AND LAST YEAR, 370.    WE ARE VERY HAPPY ABOUT THE 421.
AND THIS YEAR, A FREE THEATRE TICKET WENT TO ANYONE BRINING IN 5 JARS AND
THE VOY THEATRE GAVE OUT AROUND 50 OF THIS ADMISSION TICKETS.   THANKS
TO THE THEATRE.
ALL 423 JARS FIT IN JAKE'S PICKUP, AS YOU CAN SEE ABOVE IN FRONT OFTHE KMAQ ST'UDIOS.    THE TRUCK WAS LOADED AND UNLOADED ON WEST PLATT BY (LEFT TO RIGHT) RICK HENSHAW,  JAKE BICKFORD (THE OLDEST, SEATED) AND DOUG MELVOLD.    KMAQ THANKS THEM FOR VOLUNTEERING TO DO THIS FOR US.

STARTS TONIGHT AT THE VOY THEATRE IN MAQUOKETA

GLENDA LEEPER (HUSBAND IS KRIS, MORNING ANNOUNCER AT KMAQ) WAS IN CAMANCHE RECENTLY TO WATCH (WITH KRIS) HER GRANDSON PLAY BASKETBALL FOR NORTH CEDAR AGAINST
CAMANCHE.   AND THERE HE WAS, SCOUTING FOR THE HAWKEYES.   VERY NICE PICTURE OF BOTH.
