FRIDAY DAILY

THE LINCOLN HIGHWAY IS 100 YEARS OLD.    IT STARTED IN WASHINGTON D.C.
AND ENDED AT SAN FRANCISCO, BACK IN 1919.    A  CONVOY OF OLD MILITARY
VEHICLES IS TRAVELING THE HIGHWAY THIS MONTH AND NEXT, CELEBRATING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY.   THERE WAS A STOP-OVER IN DEWITT YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, WITH ABOUT 50 VEHICLES TRAVELING THROUGH DOWNTOWN AND TO THE FAIRGROUNDS.    I TOOK A FEW PHOTOS.

ON THE WAY HOME, WE TOOK A GRAVEL ROAD AND CAME UPON
THE CODY HOMESTEAD.     BUFFALO BILL WAS BORN HERE, NOT
FAR FROM McCAUSLAND, AND LIVED HERE UNTIL HE WAS 8
YEARS OLD.    HOMW WAS NOT OPEN (CLOSES AT 5) BUT WE DROVE IN
TO TAKE A  LOOK.
NICE LONG DRIVE LEADING UP TO HOUSE.
WELL MAINTAINED HOME.    OUTDOOR REST ROOM FOR THE PUBLIC.
WE WILL GO BACK WHEN IT IS OPEN.

DORA AND RACING RAIN ARE BOTH SHOWING NOW
AT BOTH THE VOY THEATRE DOWNTOWN AND THE DRIVE-IN SOUTH OF TOWN
