TO THE LEFT, IOWA HOME GROWN SWEET CORN. THE EVENT, THE JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS CORN BOIL, SATURDAY EVENING AT TABOR WINERY. JUST ABOUT EVERY CANDIDATE WAS THERE TO GIVE SHORT (SOMETIMES NOT SHORT)
SPEACH. IT ONE OF THE TWO EVENTS I COVERED OVER WEEKEND.
THE OTHER....
.....THE FISH FRY SUNDAY NIGHT AT THE CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM. IT WAS THE
10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE OPENING OF THE MUSEUM. THE PAUL PAPKE
MACHINE SHED NAMING CEREMONY WAS ALSO HELD. NOW DECEASED, FOR MANY
YEARS HE WAS A VERY ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL
SOCIETY. IN FACT, HE WILLED A FARM TO THE SOCIETY.
ALSO YESTERDAY, ANYONE COULD TAKE A LOOK INSIDE THE NEW NARROW GUAGE RAILROAD CAR BEING BUILDT BY VOLUNTEERS AND TO BE LOCATED NEXT TO THE NARROW GUAGE LaMOTTE DEPOT NOT FAR FROM THE MUSEUM. THE CAR WILL
BE FINISHED AND READY TO BE PLACED ON TRACKS BY THE DEPOT NEXT YEAR.
A WEEK AGO SUNDAY, A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER FROM NORWAY (BRIAN TALLMAN) WAS AT THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE AND YESTERDAY, SENT SOME PHOTOS HE TOOK. NEAT.... SHARP PHOTOS.
