THIS MOBILE HOME BURNED AROUND 10:30 SATURDAY NIGHT ON DARK HOLLOW ROAD 3 MILES SOUTH OF ANDREW. IN THE HOME, RANDY AND
MISSY STRODTMAN AND YOUNG SON. THEY GOT OUT SAFELY. FIREMEN
FROM MAQUOKETA AND ANDREW WERE CALLED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE.
THEY LOST EVERYTHING. DONATIONS OF GIFT CARDS AND CLOTHING
CAN BE TAKEN TO THE EXTENSION OFFICE IN MAQUOKETA AND
THE SCHOOL IN ANDREW.
EIGHT MEN WORKED AGAIN TODAY ON MY 3-STORY BUILDING WHERE THE
VOY 3 AUDITORIUM IS LOCATED. A PHOTO OF THE HOLMES CONSTRUCTION OF DELMAR WORKERS IS ALSO ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE MAQUOKETA SENTINEL-PRESS THIS WEEK. THIS MAY GET DONE TOMORROW.
THIS IS A PHOTO OF THE NORTH SIDE ALREADY DONE....A TWO-TONE
GRAY....LOOKS NICE.
NEW HOME GOING UP ON WEST GROVE STREET, JUST WEST OF THE
BASEBALL DIAMONDS. DON'T KNOW ANY OWNER DETAILS.
THE IOWA D.O.T. TODAY PAINTED YELLOW LINES ON HIGHWAY 64 THROUGH
MAQUOKETA.....PLATT STREET FROM EAST TO WEST. AND SOME NEW
ONES WERE ADDED MAKING DRIVING EASIER WHEN DETERMING WHERE
TO SAFELY TURN RIGHT OR LEFT. 64 NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD.
THE BIG SIGN ABOVE IN FRONT OF THE HISTORIC HURST HOTEL
APARTMENTS. $4-MILLION DOLLARS TO RE-DO THE BUILDING AND
THIS UGLY SIGN IS UP YEAR AROUND TO SPOIL IT'S APPEARANCE.
OUT OF TOWN OWNERSHIP. DARN!
DENNIS VOY
I agree with you Dennis-the sign should come off of the front -this building is on the National Historic Register-
