YESTERDAY, THEY STARTED LAYING THE BRICKS DOWNTOWN. HERE YOU SEE ONE OF THE TWO PLANTERS ON NORTH MAIN STREET AND
QUARRY AND THE BRICKS AROUND IT. THESE ARE THE OLD BRICKS THAT WERE
TODAY, THEY ALSO STARTED LAYING NEW BRICKS. THE NEW ONES GO ON CROSSWALKS, WHERE PEOPLE WALK ACROSS THE STREET.
THE STONEWORK ON THE PLANTERS IS
BEING DON BY LARRY McDEVITT OF
MAQUOKETA.
THIS IS THE WALKWAY FROM DECKER HOTEL ACROSS THE STREET NORTH TO THE POST OFFICE, WITH THE NEW RED BRICK. IT WAS COMPLETED TODAY AND SO THAT MEANS VERY SOON THAT SHORT STREET WILL OPEN ON TO NORTH MAIN AND TRAFFIC WILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE NORTH THROUGH THE QUARRY AND MAIN INTERSECTION WHEN IT OPENS SOON. HOPE THE POST OFFICE PUTS A NEW DROP BOX ON THAT STREET WHEN IT RE-OPENS AS THE OLD ONE BEING USED NOW IS A LITTLE BEAT UP.
MAIN AND PLATT LATE THIS AFTERNOON.

THE GIFT AND ANTIQUE PART OPENS FRIDAY BUT THE BISTRO (RESTAURANT) WILL OPEN AT A LATER DATE, AWAITING LICENSING. THE NEW OWNER IS SARAHY (PRONOUNCED SARAH-E) ARRIAGA de CASTRO AND SHE IS FROM MOLINE. THE BUSINESS WILL BE OPEN TUESDAYS THROUGH SATURDAYS.
COUNTRY MUSIC GREAT "WHISPERING" BILL ANDERSON WILL BE APPEARING AT THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER SATURDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 20TH.

WITH AN RV AND A SMALL BAND. HAS STILL HAS OTHER DATES TOO ON THIS TOUR. HE HAS BEEN ONE THE MAIN ENTERTAINERS FOR MOST OF
HIS CAREER ON THE WLS BARN DANCE SHOW IN NASHVILLE, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS. I HAVE BEEN TO THAT SHOW SEVERAL TIMES. THIS
WILL BE A GREAT SHOW AND ALREADY OVER 600 TICKETS HAVE BEEN SOLD.
A LOT OF PHOTOS AGAIN TODAY. HOPE YOU LIKE THIS PHOTO DAILY WITH MANY TIMES..... WORDING BENEATH THE PHOTO.
