IN MAQUOKETA AREA...TATTOOS ARE BIG! SINCE JANUARY, MAQUOKETA HAS HAD A TATTOO SHOP....."RESURRECTION INK" .....AT 124 WEST PLATT STREET. IT IS OWNED BY DAN GREENHALGH OF THE QUAD CITIES.
HE HAS TWO OTHER SHOPS, EACH WITH A DIFFERENT NAME, AT DAVENPORT AND LEON. AN EMPLOYEE (GOES BY GLENN) OPENS THE OFFICE HERE, BUT DOES NOT DO TATTOO WORK. MOST OF THE TATTOOS ARE DONE BY OWNER DAVE (HE'S BEEN DOING THEM FOR OVER 25 YEARS), OR MAQUOKETA TATTOO ARTIST MATT LOY WHO HAS OVER 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE. OWNER DAN SCHEDULES TATTOO JOBS AT ALL 3 OF HIS LOCATIONS. IN MAQUOKETA, THEY ARE OPEN MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL 7 P.M. CURRENTLY, THEY ARE BOOKED UP FOR 2 MONTHS, BUT SOMETIMES CAN SCHEDULE A JOB EARLIER. A TATTOO IS $50 MINIMUM AND $100 AN HOUR. THE AVERAGE
TATTOO CAN BE DONE IN ABOUT 2 HOURS IN THE CHAIR BELOW...
MOST TATTOOS ARE TO THE ARM, RIBS OR LEGS....SOME TO PARTS YOU
WILL NOT SEE. YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM HUNDREDS OF DESIGNS IN THE SHOP AND ON THEIR FACEBOOK, OR YOU CAN, WITH DAN'S HELP, DESIGN YOUR OWN. AND IF YOU HAVE ONE YOU DON'T LIKE, OR IT MAY BE FADING A LITTLE, THEY OFFER COFFERUP'S...A TATTOO OVER ONE YOU ALREADY HAVE. THERE IS NO PAIN WHEN GETTING A TATTOO, MORE LIKE THE FEEL OF A MILD SUNBURN AND IT WILL ONLY LASTS FOR A COUPLE DAYS. YES, YOU CAN HAVE DAN REMOVE A TATTOO! THERE ARE TWO PHONE NUMBERS FOR THE MAQUOKETA SHOP....563-529-2702 AND 563-748-0071.
GIFT CERTIFICATES ARE AVAILABLE. THEY ALSO DO "LETTERING" OF SIGNS
AND VEHICLES. JUST RECENTLY, THEY DID ALL THE LETTERING ON A
STOCK CAR.
