THE JACKSON COUNTY VETERANS AFFAIRS OFFICE MOVED FROM CRAMPED QUARTERS IN THE COURTHOUSEM BASEMENT TO THE MAIN FLOOR AND INTO TWO SPACIOUS OFFICES. AN OPEN HOUSE WAS HELD TODAY. THE ENTRY IS IN A CORNER NEAR THE LARGE FRONT ENTRACE OFF OF PLATT
STREET.
TERRY CREEGAN OF MAQUOKETA, DIRECTOR, AT HIS DESK. NOTE ALL OF HAS UNIFORMS UP ON WALL. HE IS ONE OF THOSE WHO CAN STILL FIT
INTO HIS MILITARY CLOTHES.

DESK. SHE ALSO SERVED IN THE MILITARY AND SOME OF HER UNIFORMS
ARE ON DISPLAY, AS WELL AS OTHERS FROM HER FAMILY.

ON THE WAY WALKING TO THE COURTHOUSE, I TOOK THE PHOTO BELOW,
OF THE VETERANS MEMORIAL BY THE COURTHOUSE, ON THE CORNER OF PLATT AND 2ND. YOU HAVE PASSED IT HUNDREDS OF TIMES, BUT, LIKE ME, WONDERED WHAT IT SAID.
WALKED PAST ONE OF MANY DOWNTOWN STORES WITH A HARVEST
TOUCH OUTSIDE THE STORE, LIKE BELOW....
AND....ACROSS (EAST) OF THE COURTHOUSE, A NEARLY FILLED PARKING
LOT....
WENT PAST BRIGG'S ELEMENTARY SCHOOL....
TOOK PHOTO OF THE NEW SIGN....
THE OLD WORN-OUT SIGN IS STILL ON THE CORNER, WAITING TO BE TAKEN
DOWN. AND ON THE OPPOSITE CORNER ON QUARRY STREET, WANTED,
SOMEONE TO DONATE A NEW "LITTLE BEAR PARK" SIGN. THE OLD BELOW
JUST DOESN'T DO IT.
OWL FURNITURE STORE, A NEW LOOK TO......
FRESH PAINT JOB, NEW SIGNS AND NEW PAVED PARKING IN FRONT.
GOOD JOB CHARLIE SAGERS! CHARLIE DOES GOOD (VERY GOOD) WORK!

THE VERY BIG MOVIE ABOVE OPENS FRIDAY NIGHT AT BOTH THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE SOUTH OF MAQUOKETA AND THE VOY THEATRE IN DOWNTOWN
MAQUOKETA. A MOVIE FOR ALL THE FAMILY. BECAUSE THERE IS
NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, THERE WILL BE A BARGAIN MATINEE AT 2 FRIDAY AFTERNOON. AND THEN OF COURSE, BARGAIN MATINEE ALSO AT 2
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AFTERNOON. OR...TUESDAY NIGHT IS BARGAIN
NIGHT AND EVERY WEDNESDAY NIGHT IS FREE POPCORN NIGHT.
