IT WAS COLD LAST NIGHT, 36.
IT WAS COLD TODAY, 45.
TOMORROW, SUNNY AND 53.
RAIN AND 53 SATURDAY.
SUNDAY....STILL LOOKING GOOD....SUNNY AND 62.

IT WAS COLD AT THE FOOTBALL GAME LAST NIGHT.
THAT KEPT THE CROWD DOWN, ON BOTH SIDES OF GOODENOW FIELD.

MAQUOKETA BEAT CLEAR CREEK AMANA 13 TO 7.    ALSO LAST NIGHT,
DAVENPORT ASSUMPTION DEFEATED DUBUQUE WAHLERT 42 TO 21.
MONDAY NIGHT, MAQUOKETA PLAYS ASSUMPTION AT DAVENPORT,
AT 7 P.M.   AGAIN, THE GAME WILL BE ON KMAQ AND OUR WEB HOME
PAGE.

THERE WERE TWO OTHER PLAYOFF GAMES WITH LOCAL TEAMS LAST
NIGHT.    MIDLAND WYOMING LOST TO TURKEY VALLEY  42 TO 26 AND
BELLEVUE LOST TO IOWA CITY REGINA, 41 TO 20.

































DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE THREE LARGEST COMMUNITIES IN JACKSON COUNTY ALL HAVE CONTESTED RACES IN NEXT TUESDAY'S MUNICIPAL ELECTION, THERE IS LITTLE INTEREST IN VOTING EARLY.    JOELLE DEPPE, JACKSON COUNTY AUDITOR AND COMMISSIONER OF ELECTIONS SAYS HER OFFICE HAS SEEN ONLY A FEW ABSENTEE VOTERS AND ONLY A FEW MORE
WHO HAVE REQUESTED BALLOTS.    IN MAQUOKETA, 61 BALLOTS  HAVE BEEN RETURNED.
