FRIDAY DAILY REPORT

MISS THE DAILY REPORT?
NANCY AND I ATTENDED A 3-DAY MOVIE CONVENTION AT LAKE GENEVA, WISCONSIN, 3 HOURS NORTHEAST OF MAQUOKETA.   THE PHOTO ABOVE TAKEN FROM THE HOTEL ROOM.    HAD A GOOD TIME AND AM NOW UP-TO-DATE ON THE THEATRE BUSINESS  AND THE MOVIES COMING OUT THIS FALL AND THROUGH THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY.    A LOT OF THEM AND MANY LOOK GOOD.     WATCHED A CONVENTION SCREENING  OF "BRIDGE OF SPIES", ABOUT U-2 PILOT GARY POWERS, AND HIS ORDEAL IN THE LATE 50'S.
DIRECTED BY STEVEN SPIELBERG AND STARRING TOM HANKS, IT SHOULD BE A BIG HIT THIS FALL.

SUNNY, AND BREEZY TODAY IN MAQUOKETA...WITH A HIGH OF 68.   SAME
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW AND SUNDAY AND BACK INTO THE 70'S NEXT
WEEK.

MAQUOKETA PLAYS MARION THERE....TONIGHT.    KICK-OFF  AROUND 7:30.  THE INDIANS HAVE NOT WON A GAME THIS YEAR AND LAST FRIDAY LOST
TO DEWITT.   MATT CLARK WILL  HAVE THE GAME ON KMAQ TONIGHT
AROUND 7:20 AND IT WILL ALSO BE ON OUR HOME WEB PAGE.
TOMORROW MORNING, I WILL POST THE SCORE HERE.

ABOVE, A PHOTO TAKEN AT THE KIWANIS MEETING THIS WEEK.
LEFT TO RIGHT:   DOUGH KNICKREHM, IMMEDIATE PAST-PRESIDENT
OF KIWANIS....STEVE KAHLER, PRESIDENT FOR THIS YEAR....AND STEVE
GEISERT, LT. GOV. FROM DUBUQUE.

THE BIG ANNUAL "PIONEER DAY" IS THIS SUNDAY AT THE FAIRGROUNDS,
SPONSORED BY THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY.    STARTS AT 10 A.M. AND
WILL LAST WELL INTO THE AFTERNOON.   I HAVE BEEN TO MANY AND
THEY ARE FUN AND INTERESTING.    FOOD AVAILABLE.    TOO BAD THAT
MOSTLY "SENIORS" ATTEND.     FAMILIES SHOULD ATTEND TO SEE, WITH THEIR KIDS, HOW THINGS WERE DONE YEARS AND YEARS AGO.   IF YOU ARE GOING, INVITE A GRANDCHILD OR TWO TO GO WITH YOU.

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND.

DENNIS VOY
