TUESDAY DAILY REPORT

MAQUOKETA GOT A HALF INCH OF RAIN YESTERDAY MORNING WHICH WAS
THE ONLY RAIN OVER THE LABOR DAY 3-DAY WEEKEND.   IT WAS PRETTY
WARM ALL 3 DAYS.    THIS MORNING, WE GET 15/100 INCH AND THEN
SUNNY AND BREEZY THE REST OF TODAY, WITH A  HIGH OF 77.
TOMORROW AND FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK THE WEATHER LOCALLY
WILL BE SUNNY AND IN THE 70'S.

QUIET WEEKEND IN MAQUOKETA.     I HEARD THE JOHNNY CASH LEGENDS
SHOW SATURDAY NIGHT WAS GOOD AND THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS  THEATRE WAS BETTER THAN HALF FULL.    DELMAR HAD A GOOD SUNDAY
CAR SHOW AGAIN, BUT DOWN IN NUMBERS A LITTLE.     THE SPRINGBROOK
FIRE DEPARTMENT LABOR DAY CHICKEN BAR-B-QUE WAS A BIG SUCCESS.
IOWA'S BIGGEST PORK DINNER SUNDAY AT BELLEVUE WAS DOWN A
LITTLE.    HAD BIG TURNOUT ALL 3 NIGHTS AT THE DRIVE-IN, WITH ALMOST
PERFECT WEATHER.     OVER 600 FLAGS WERE PUT  UP IN MAQUOKETA
FOR THE HOLIDAY BY THE OPTIMIST CLUB.   HORSE SHOE  POND RV PARK WAS NEARLY FULL AND THE MAQUOKETA CAVES WAS BUSY ALL WEEKEND,
WITH MOSTLY OUT OF TOWN VISITORS.

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY, BUT NO CONTEST FOR THE MAQUOKETA
SCHOOL BOARD, SO LOW TURN OUT.
LEIGHTON HEPKER WILL BE ON THE AIR JUST AFTER 8 TONIGHT ON KMAQ-AM WITH ELECTION RETURNS.

THREE OXFORD JUNCTION RESIDENTS WERE KILLED IN A HEAD ON
CRASH  NEAR WYOMING SUNDAY NIGHT AROUND 10.

I WILL LEAVE TODAY WITH A FUNNY COMIC EMAILED TO ME........
HAVE A GOOD WEEK.
