SUNSHINE LEARNING CENTER (FORMERLY PRE-SCHOOL AND DAYCARE) IN
MAQUOKETA  WILL  OPEN SOON A SECOND LOCATION, AT ANDREW,
ACROSS FROM THE SCHOOL.    IT WILL EMPLOY 10, WITH ABOUT 40 KIDS.

THERE ARE 12 CANDIDATES FOR THE DEPUTY OPENING WITH THE
JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT.

MAQUOKETA PLAYS FOOTBALL AT MACHESTER FRIDAY NIGHT AND THE GAME WILL BE ON KMAQ-FM AND ON OUR WEB HOME PAGE.

THE AMERICAN LEGION POST 75 IN MAQUOKETA MET LAST NIGHT.
4 MORE WINNERS IN THEIR MONTHLY RAFFLE DRAWING WILL EACH RECEIVE $25.   THERE ARE ABOUT 125  MEMBERS OF LEGION POST 75.   LAST NIGHT THERE WERE 5 AT MEETING, PLUS TWO DISTRICT OFFICERS FROM DUBUQUE.     READ ABOUT THE MEETING LAST NIGHT  AND SEE LOTS

THE USDA OFFICE ON EAST PLATT WILL CLOSE AT 1:30 TOMORROW
AND WILL BE CLOSED MONDAY ALSO, LABOR DAY.

THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY REVERSE-RAFFLE DINNER FUND-RAISER IS A WEEK FROM TONIGHT AT THE HOTEL AT NORTH EDGE OF CITY.
