AS A PRECAUTION, THE MANAGEMENT HAS DECIDED TO CLOSE THE POOL UNTIL THEY ARE CONFIDENT THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED TO HIGH QUALITY STANDARDS. WARREN SAID THEY WILL WORK HARD TO PROVIDE UPDATES AND A TIMELINE FOR WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO RE-OPEN THE POOL. CHECK THE WEBSITE AND FACEBOOK PAGE FOR ON GOING DEVELOPMENTS.
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ANSWERED TWO CALLS YESTERDAY.
TO A GRASS FIRE AT FULTON, IOWA AND IT WAS PUT OUT QUICKLY.
AND LATER IN AFTERNOON, A CALL TO A FIRE ALARM THAT
HAD MALFUNCTIONED.
AT THE SUPERVISOR'S MEETING TUESDAY, THE CONTRACT FOR THE BERNARD ROAD PAVING PROJECT WAS APPROVED AT OVER $900,000 TO MATHY CONSTRUCTION RIVER CITY PAVING AND OVER $112,000 ALSO TO MATHY FOR THE ESGATE ROAD PAVING.
AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING MONDAY, THE COUNCIL SPENT $5,400 TO HAVE 6 TREES AND 2 STUMPS REMOVED BY GIL'S TREE SERVICE.
AND, GAVE GO-AHEAD FOR A DRESS CODY POLICY BY PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT CALLING FOR PURCHASE OF 5 SHORT SLEEVED SHIRTS AND 1 HOODED SWEATSHIRT.
AND THERE WAS A DISCUSSION ON REQUEST BY JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO PURCHASE CITY-OWNED LAND NEXT TO THE
CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM. MATTER TABLED PENDING MORE INFORMATION.
ON THE POLICE BLOTTER, THELMA YAROLEM REPORTED $600 WAS STOLEN
FROM HER UNLOCKED CAR AT 5076 48TH STREET.
THE STATE ASSOCIATION FOR THE PRESERVATION OF IOWA CEMETERIES WILL MEET AT 10:30 A.M. SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 11TH, AT THE CENTRAL COMMUNITY HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM IN DOWNTOWN DEWITT TO DISCUSS CARE AND PRESERVATION OF PIONEER CEMETERIES....THOSE WHICH HAVE HAD 12 OR FEWER BURIALS IN THE PAST 50 YEARS.
