FRIDAY DAILY REPORT

12 BELOW TONIGHT.
WARMING A LITTLE OVER THE WEEKEND WITH ABOUT AN INCH OF
NEW SNOW IN THE FORECAST.

THE BELLEVUE CATHOLIC MOHAWKS BASKETBALL TEAM WON LAST NIGHT
....DEFEATING LONE TREE, 54 TO 48, THANKS TO A BIG 4TH QUARTER,
LED BY LOGAN SCHROEDER.  HE SCORED 14 OF HIS  20 POINTS IN THAT FOURTH QUARTER AND 8 FOR 8 AT THE FREE THROW LINE.    THE MOHAWKS ARE  NOW 19 AND 4 AND WILL PLAY BELLE  PLAINE, 23 AND 1, TOMORROW NIGHT AT 7 AT CEDAR RAPIDS PRAIRIE  HIGH SCHOOL.   WE WILL BROADCAST THE GAME.   IF THE MOHAWKS WIN, THEY GO TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT AND WOULD BE THE ONLY KMAQ AREA TEAM TO GO THIS YEAR.

TUESDAY EVENING, A GROUP FROM ANDREW SCHOOL DISTRICT MET WITH
MAQUOKETA AND IT WAS DECIDED THAT ANDREW WILL HELP WITH SOME
PROJECTS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL IN MAQUOKETA.   A TOTAL OF $20,000
WILL BE PROVIDED IN 3 AREAS.    $10,000 FOR REMODELING THE SCIENCE
ROOM....$5,000 FOR A SECURITY CAMERA AND KEY SECURITY SYSTEM
FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL MAIN ENTRANCE AND $5,000 TOWARD STUDENT
COMPUTERS.    ANDREW WILL USE MONEY FROM THEIR LOCAL OPTION
SALES TAX.

THERE WILL BE A PUBLIC LEGISLATIVE FORUM  AT MAQUOKETA CITY
HALL AT 9 TOMORROW MORNING.    ISSUES BEING DEBATED IN THE
2015 IOWA LEGISLATURE WILL BE DISCUSSED WITH ST. REP. BRIAN
MOORE.
