THE 14 ARE: JOAN BOLLMAN, BARBARA McKEON, DIANE HENRY, CINDY HEPKER, LINDA LIPPENS, LAURNET SPALDING, JUDY KOON, NANCY BATEY,
RICK WILLIAMS, LUANNE HUCKSTADT, CATHY DURKOP, BONNIE BRUCK, KATHY KLOCKE AND JACKIE CROWLEY.
THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL MET FOR A SHORT 25-MINUTE MEETING

AT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S ANNUAL BANQUET SATURDAY NIGHT,
CHIEF MARK BECK CITED JERRY BOWEN AND TERRY RUBEL FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE DEPARTMENT, AND MIKE SNYDER FOR 20 YEARS.
FIRE FIGHTER OF THE YEAR, MATT TRANEL. LAST YEAR, FIREMEN
ANSWERED 76 FIRE CALLS AND 55 RESCUE CALLS. FIRE LOSS IN
MAQUOKETA AMOUNTED TO $687,150.
LAST NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS BEAT INDEPENDENCE 43 TO 23.
TONIGHT, THE GIRLS WILL PLAY WESTERN DUBUQUE AT EPWORTH,
AND THE BOYS WILL HOST WESTERN DUBUQUE.
CURTIS SAGERS, AGE 53, OF BETTENDORF, DIED YESTERDAY.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT A LATER DATE. HE WAS BORN IN MAQUOKETA AND IS SURVIVED BY HIS FATHER, LANE SAGERS OF MAQUOKETA AND KAREN SCHOENTHALER OF VENICE, FLORIDA. ALSO,
FOUR CHILDREN, INCLUDING NATHAIN, MONICA, AND STEPHEN OF MAQUOKETA, FOUR GRANDCHILDREN, TWO SISTERS, AND TWO BROTHERS, INCLUDING CHARLES SAGERS OF MAQUOKETA. ARRANGEMENTS BY
CUNNICK-COLLINS MORTUARY IN THE QUAD CITIES.
