THREE VEHICLES WERE IN AN ACCIDENT LAST FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT SUMMIT AND MAIN STREETS AND WE JUST GOT THE REPORT TODAY.
SHAYLENE LAI, 25, OF MAQUOKETA WAS GOING SOUTH ON MAIN.
MARILYN KRAMER OF MAQUOKETA STOPPED AT THE STOP SIGN AND
DID NOT SEE THE LAI VEHICLE MAKE A RIGHT TURN ON TO MAIN.
AT THE SAME TIME, THE ACCIDENT INVOLVING THOSE TWO VEHICLES CAUSED LAI'S VEHICLE TO HIT A SEMI-TRUCK DRIVEN BY AN ILLINOIS MAN THAT WAS GOING NORTH AND TURNING ON TO SUMMIT. NO INJURIES.
KRAMER WAS CHARGED. $4,000 DAMAGE TO LAI'S 1997 MAZDA,
REGISTERED TO A DUBUQUE PERSON. $500 DAMAGE TO KRAMER'S 2000 CHEVY AND $8,000 DAMAGE TO THE SEMI. THIS IS THE INTERSECTION
THAT MANY WOULD LIKE TO SEE HAVE TRAFFIC SIGNALS, BUT THERE IS
NOT ENOUGH LAND TO DO THIS WITHOUT GREAT EXPENSE.
THE JACKSON COUNTY CONFERENCE BOARD WILL MEET AT 5:30 P.M. MONDAY AT THE COURTHOUSE COMMUNITY ROOM AND AT THE
MEETING, THE BOARD MAY HIRE LEE KARABIN TO BE THE NEW JACKSON
COUNTY ASSESSOR. THE MEETING IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

SEASON ON THE ROAD AT CENTER POINT AND LOST THE GAME LAST NIGHT TO CENTER POINT-URBANA, A WAMAC CONFERENCE GAME.
ON THE STORK REPORT, ANDREW AND BRANDI DUHME OF MAQUOKETA
ARE PARENTS OF A BOY BORN YESTERDAY IN DAVENPORT. PATERNAL
GRANDPARENTS ARE DENNIS AND LOLY DUHME OF MAQUOKETA.
WE HAVE THREE BIG MOVIES SHOWING AT THE VOY 3 THEATRE FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.
