MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AGREED TO ALLOW THE DISTRICT
TO ADVERTISE FOR A FRESHMAN VOLLEYBALL COACH. ATHLETIC
DIRECTOR TOM GRUENWALD SAID THERE ARE FIVE LEVELS OF VOLLEYBALL
AND THEY HAVE THREE COACHES FOR 48 KIDS. HE SAID THAT'S A LOT
OF ATHLETES FOR 3 COACHES.
STEDMAN GRAHAM OF CHICAGO WILL BE IN MAQUOKETA MONDAY TO SPEAK IN THE SCHOOLS AS WELL AS PROVIDE A COMMUNITY PROGRAM.
HE IS AN AUTHOR, EDUCATOR, AND ENTREPRENEUR AND IS KNOWN AS
OPRAH WINFREY'S PARTNER.
THE COMMUNITY PROGRAM IS PLANNED FROM 5:30 UNTIL 7:30 P.M. MONDAY AT THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER. NO CHARGE.
A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT AT 7:51 LAST NIGHT ON THE BELLEVUE-CASCADE ROAD AND 183RD AVENUE. JACQUELYNN SMITH, AGE 36, OF MAQUOKETA,
WAS DRIVING NORTH ON 183RD AND DID NOT STOP AT THE STOP SIGN.
SHE SLID THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND HIT A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY
ADAM REUTER, AGE 26, OF ZWINGLE, WHO WAS ON THE BELLEVUE-CASCADE ROAD. NO INJURIES. SMITH WAS CHARGED. $3000 DAMAGE TO HER
CAR AND $5,000 DAMAGE TO THE REUTER 2013 GMC TRUCK.
SEVERAL CARE WERE RANSACKED ON ANGUS COURT ON SUNDAY
NIGHT AND MONDAY NIGHT, TWO ADDITIONAL VEHICLES WERE ENTERED.
PATRICIA KIMMER ON S. PROSPECT STREET REPORTED YESTERDAY THAT HER CAR WAS RANSACKED AND NOTHING MISSING.
COLE HUTE OF 303 S. NIAGARAA REPORTED TUESDAY THAT A GARMIN
WAS STOLEN FROM HIS VEHICLE.

BETTENDORF (COMMUTES TO MAQUOKETA WHERE SHE WORKS AT M-S-B)
TOOK THE TOP PHOTO IN 2008 WHEN GRANDSON JACOB WALKED TO SCHOOL FOR FIRST TIME (WITH HIS DAD) AND THIS MORNING, SHE TOOK THE BOTTOM PHOTO AS HE STARTED HIS WALK TO SCHOOL AGAIN WITH HIS DAD, SHAWN.
BACK TO MAQUOKETA STATE BANK....NEXT MONDAY, THE 18TH, LONGTIME
LOAN OFFICER DAVE JOHNSON WILL BE 75. HE STILL WORKS ON MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS. NO, HE HASN'T CHANGED A BIT, JUST A LITTLE SLOWER.
