A SQUIRREL GOT INTO A TRANSFORMER CAUSING A FUSE TO BLOW OUT NEAR CRESLANE AND PLATT RESULTING IN A POWER OUTAGE AT MEDICAL
ASSOCIATES AND OSTERHAUS PHARMACY. THE POWER WENT OFF AT
7 THIS MORNING AND WAS RESTORED ABOUT 9.
THE ANNUAL MAQUOKETA ADVENTURE RACE IS TOMORROW. THE CANOEING PART OF IT HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE OF HIGH WATER ON THE MAQUOKETA RIVER. THE BICYCLE PART WILL BE LONGER NOW
AND THEN END WITH THE WALK TO DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA AT THE CHAMBER OFFICE. IT STARTS AT 7:30 A.M. WITH CHECK-IN AT CANTON.
THE RELAY FOR LIFE CANCER EVENT IS FROM 6 TONIGHT UNTIL 2 A.M.
TOMORROW, AT THE FAIRGROUNDS. THE GOAL IS TO RAISE MORE
THAN $60,000 AND IT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. LOTS OF THINGS WILL BE GOING ON INCLUDING THE LUMINARY CEREMONY.
TOMORROW, THE FIRST-EVER "TASTE OF MAQUOKETA" WILL BE HELD
STARTING AT 11 A.M. AT THE GREENSPACE IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.
THERE WILL BE SEVERAL VENDOORS WITH FOOD UNTIL 3 P.M.
THERE WILL ALSO BE A DUNK TANK, CHILDREN'S CARNIVAL AND MUSIC.
AND TRY TO MAKE THE SUNDAY AFTERNOON MUSIC SHOW AT
MAQUOKETA ART EXPERIENCE.....
