IN THE WAMAC CONFERENCE TENNIS TOURNAMENT YESTERDAY AT 
THE HIGH SCHOOL, JACOB MILLER OF MAQUOKETA TOOK FIRST PLACE IN #1 SINGLES, WINNING HIS MATCH 10-3.
LUCAS LONG OF MAQUOKETA WAS 3RD IN #2 SINGLES, WINNING 10-2.
JOEY LYON OF THE CARDINALS WAS 3RD IN #4 SINGLES WINNING 10-3.
THE REMAINING CARDINAL SINGLES PLAYERS AND DOUBLES TEAMS ALL
FINISHED 4TH.

THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS WERE ASKED THIS MORNING TO THINK ABOUT TAKING OVER OWNERSHIP OF THE JACKSON COUNTY MEDICAL SERVICES...OR AMBULANCES.   IT  IS LIKELY THE  MAQUOKETA EMS WILL BE ABSORBED BY ILLINI AMBULANCE SERVICE BECAUSE OF THE  HOSPITAL'S AFFILIATION WITH GENESIS.
NOTE:  THERE IS A FUN CARD IN THE ROTARY SILENT AUCTION THIS WEEK.

IN THE GIRL'S CARDINAL RELAYS HERE IN MAQUOKETA YESTERDAY, CASCADE TOOK FIRST PLACE IN THE 11-TEAM FIELD.   MAQUOKETA

GIRL'S TENNIS YESTERDAY, DAVENPORT ASSUMPTION 9 MAQUOKETA 0

THE FIRST RAILROAD (TWO) CAME TO MAQUOKETA IN 1870.    LEARNED THAT TODAY
AT THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY'S BROWN BAG LUNCH.
