THE JACKSON COUNTY HORSE AND HARNESS ASSOCIATION PREPARED THE
LAND (2 ACRES) AND PLANTED CORN TODAY ON CITY-OWNED LAND RIGHT
EAST OF THE CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM. ASSOCIATION MEMBER SCOTT GENT RENTED THE LAND AND ASKED THE ASSOCIATION TO PLANT THE CORN FOR HIM SO THE PUBLIC COULD SEE HOW IT WAS DONE IN THE OLD DAYS.
WERE THERE ANY KIDS THERE TO SEE HOW IT WAS DONE YEARS AGO?
A FEW! SAME OLD STORY.... PARENTS DIDN'T TAKE THEM!
NOW, EVERYONE CAN WATCH THE CORN GROW THIS SUMMER AND THIS
FALL, THE ASSOCIATION WILL USE HORSES AND WAGONS TO HAND-PICK
THE CORN AND INVITE THE PUBLIC AGAIN TO WATCH TO SEE HOW IT WAS
DONE.
NICE DAY FOR THIS EVENT....THANKS TO THE FFA MEMBERS FOR OPERATING
A CONCESSION STAND.
