THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

CLOUDY TODAY AND COOL.   RAIN LATER TODAY, OVERNIGHT AGAIN  AND TOMORROW MORNING.   SATURDAY, SUNNY AND 50.

THE AUTOPSY REPORT ON AARON SCOTT, WHO DIED EARLY TUESDAY
MORNING AFTER SHOOTING A MAQUOKETA POLICEMAN AND THEN
FOUND AFTER A CAR  CHASE, DEAD  IN HIS PICKUP ON 150TH AVENUE
NEAR LOST NATION.     THE AUTOPSY WAS PERFORMED BY THE IOWA
STATE MEDICAL EXAMINER AND THE AUTOPSY DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF DEATH TO A SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOOT WOUND.   THE
MANNER OF DEATH WILL BE CERTIFIED AS A SUICIDE.    IT ALSO
SHOWED THAT AARON SCOTT WAS SHOT ONE TIME IN THE LEG BY
THE POLICE OFFICER AND THAT INJURY WAS NOT LIFE THREATENING.
THE OFFICER'S NAME WAS ALSO RELEASED TODAY.    HE IS SGT. BRENDAN
ZEIMET, A 13 YEAR VETERAN OF THE MAQUOKETA POLICE DEPARTMENT.
HE WAS TREATED FOR A GUNSHOT WOUND TO HIS LEFT ARM AND WAS
RELEASED THE SAME DAY FROM THE HOSPITAL AND IS IS IN GOOD CONDITION.    HE IS ON PAID ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE.

ON THE POLICE BLOTTER:
WENDY SCOTT REPORTED ONE OF SIX MAILBOXES AT 18066 HIGHWAY
64 WAS DAMAGED WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
ALSO, A REPORT OF SOME TREES AND GROUND HAD BEEN PAINTED
AT THE MCNEIL PRESERVE ON 33RD STREET.
AND SUSAN POWELL ON 67TH STREET REPORTED HER HOUSE WAS BROKEN INTO.   A PLAYSTATION 3 GAME AND GAMES WERE TAKEN WEDNESDAY.'
