CHERYL CURL HAS INFORMED THE HOSPITAL BOARD THAT
SHE WILL RETIRE (NO DATE GIVEN) AS CHIEF NURSING OFFICER.
SHE'S BEEN A LONGTIME EMPLOYEE.
ALSO, ROSE KAMMEYER IN THE MEDICAL RECORDS DEPARTMENT
RETIRED DECEMBER 31ST. SHE WAS WITH THE HOSPITAL 23 YEARS.
AND DEB SULLIVAN HAS RESIGNED AS HUMAN SERVICES DIRECTOR.
PAT AND JOAN COSTELLO WILL OBSERVE THEIR 50TH ANNIVERSARY
ON JANUARY 18TH. THEIR DAUGHTER TRACY HOPES FRIENDS
WILL SEND A CARD TO THEM: P.O. BOX 1423, CAREFREE, AZ 85377-1423
LEIGHTON AND CINDY HEPKER, AT A FAMILY GET-TOGETHER LAST WEEK,
DROVE PAST WHERE THEY LIVE, NOTICED THEIR NAME AT ENTRANCE
OF DRIVEWAY AND STOPPED. PAT, 73, WAS IN HIS GARAGE....YES....
PAINTING. LEIGHTON GOT THIS PHOTO OF HIM.
RECOGNIZE HIS TRUCK THAT USED TO BE PARKED AT HIS ART STUDIO EAST OF MAQUOKETA. THE CITY NAME HAS BEEN CHANGED. THEY ALSO
WENT INSIDE AND VISITED WITH JOAN. BOTH LOOKING FORWARD TO THE BIG ANNIVERSARY. FOR MANY YEARS, THE COSTELLO'S AND TOM AND PAM PECKOSH (THE FOUR SITTING TOGETHER) WERE MY #1 THEATRE GOERS AT THE VOY 3 THEATRE. AND MOST OF THE TIME, THEY WOULD SPEND TIME AFTER THE MOVIE, PICKING IT APART OR PRAISING IT. PAT AND JOAN RETIRED AND LIVING NEAR PHOENIX AND TOM AND PAM SEMI-RETIRED AND
LIVING AT RAPID CITY, WHERE THEY OWN A MOTEL.
ALLIANCE WATER RESOURCES RANG IN THE NEW YEAR WITH A WATER MAIN BREAK AT PLATT AND SOUTH JONES. THE CALL CAME IN JUST AFTER
MIDNIGHT TUESDAY. NEW YEARS DAY THEY STARTED THE REPAIR JOB
AT 8 A.M. AND WORKED A GOOD PORTION OF THE DAY. IN COLD WEATHER.
COLD WEATHER CAUSES BREAK. THERE HAVE BEEN 3 IN THE LAST TWO
WEEKS.
MAQUOKETA FIREMEN WERE CALLED TO A REPORT OF SMOKE AT 12:02 A.M.
NEW YEAR'S EVE..... TO 201 1/2 SOUTH MAIN STREET (UPSTAIRS OVER WHAT
WAS THE TOM PECKOSH LAW OFFICE FOR MANY YEARS) AND UPON ARRIVAL
FOUND A BURN SPOT BEHIND A WATER HEATER IN A UTILITY CLOSIT.
THERE WAS NO FIRE. FIREMEN WERE AT THE SCENE DOWNTOWN FOR
ABOUT 30 MINUTES.
