THE NEW (OPEN 24-7) "KWIK STAR" OPENED THE EAST AND WEST
DOORS EARLY THIS MORNING, AT THE SAME LOCATION WHERE THE TIMBER PLAZA TRUCK STOP WAS LOCATED. THE TRUCK STOP BUILDING WAS
USED, BUT ONLY AFTER MAJOR CHANGES INSIDE AND OUT. I TOOK A QUICK WALK THROUGH IT AND IT IS (LIKE THE WEST PLATT STORE THAT
OPENED A COUPLE MONTHS AGO) BIG AND VERY NICE AND COLORFUL.
I WAS THERE AT 1:30 AND IT WAS NOT VERY BUSY AT THAT TIME. THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE (IF ANY) ADVERTISING ABOUT IT'S OPENING. AND UNLIKE
WHEN THE SISTER STORE OPENED, FREEBIES WERE MISSING AS FAR AS I COULD TELL. A LADY DID OFFER FREE SANDWHICH SAMPLES.
I THINK IT MIGHT BE SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN THE PLATT STREET STORE.
TWO MAJOR DIFFERENCES. THE NORTH MAIN STORE (RIGHT ACROSS
FROM WAL MART) DOES NOT HAVE A CAR WASH, BUT IT DOES HAVE
ON THE WEST SIDE, BAYS AND PUMPS FOR TRUCKS, WITH A PARKING SPACE FOR 12 SEMI'S. INSIDE, A SHOWER ROOM FOR TRUCKERS AND A SMALL AREA WITH A COUPLE TABLES WHERE TRUCKERS CAN EAT. CAR CUSTOMERS WILL USE THE EAST DOOR AND FILL THEIR TANK ON THAT
SIDE OF BUILDING.
THINK ABOUT THIS:
MAQUOKETA NOW HAS 7 BAKERIES....EAST AND WEST CASEY'S...SOUTH AND WEST KWIK STAR'S....WAL MART....FAREWAY AND SWEET THINGS.
AND GAS? EIGHT PLACES TO FILL THE TANK OF YOUR CAR.
ALL HERE IN MAQUOKETA....THE "ONE OF A KIND" CITY WE ALL LOVE
