IT STARTED OUT WITH RAIN THIS MORNING AND NOW WE HAVE SUNSHINE.
COOL...IN 40'S. REST OF WEEK WILL BE EVEN BETTER.
A HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN DONE IN MAQUOKETA AND THE
HOSPITAL BOARD TODAY WAS GIVEN A PRESENTATION ON THE NEEDS AND APPROVED A PLAN TO ADDRESS THOSE NEEDS. THIS BOARD ACTION TODAY WAS NEEDED TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ACT. NOW, EVERY THREE YEARS, A HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT
MUST BE CONDUCTED BY THE 14 COMMUNITIES SERVED BY MAQUOKETA'S HOSPITAL. IMPLEMENTATION PLANS FOR EACH AREA WILL BE PUT ON THE HOSPITAL'S WEBSITE.
NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED WHEN A MAQUOKETA WOMAN, EILENE BUSCH, AGE 81, PUT HER VEHICLE INTO THE DITCH YESTERDAY AFTERNOON
ON HIGHWAY 62 THREE MILES NORTH OF ANDREW. SHE WAS DRIVING
SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 62 WHEN HER VEHICLE DROPPED OF THE ROAD, SLID SIDEWAYS AND WENT INTO THE DITCH. IT THEN ROLLED ONTO ITS SIDE.
BUSCH WAS NOT INJURED AND DAMAGE TO HER PONTIAC VAN WAS
ESTIMATED AT $8,500.
SOME MAILBOXES WERE HIT AND LAWNS DRIVEN THROUGH ON CARDINAL DRIVE IN MAQUOKETA YESTERDAY. POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR AN OLDER FORD PICKUP SEEN BY NEIGHBORS.
THANKS FOR CHECKING IN.
