THE TIMBER CITY GOT HIT AGAIN LAST NIGHT!

THAT TOP TREE ON THE CORNER OF EAST QUARRY AND NORTH OTTO STREET HAS BEEN THERE A LONG TIME.     BELOW,  AN EVERGREEN TREE AT TIMBER LANES ENTRANCE.     NEAR THERE, A BILLBOARD SIGN BLEW DOWN.    THE STORM HIT BETWEEN 8 AND 10 LAST NIGHT WITH HIGH WINDS AND 3/10 INCH OF RAIN.    QUITE A FEW TREES DOWN AND MANY SMALLER BRANCHES.  SOME POWER LINES DOWN TOO.  CLEAN-UP CREWS IN ALL DIRECTIONS TODAY.

WE HAD A  HIGH YESTERDAY OF 85.    THE COOL SPELL BEGAN OVERNIGHT AND TODAY, THE TEMERATURS ARE ABOUT 10 DEGREES COOLER.
AND TOMORROW AGAIN IN THE 70'S.....IN FACT.....70'S ALL WEEK LONG AND
INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK.

WHILE TREES WERE GOING DOWN, BUILDINGS ARE GOING UP.

SONAC (LIVESTOCK BLOOD PROCESSING INTO FERTILIZER) OUT IN THE INDUSTRIAL PARK IS ADDING ON.    YEARS AGO, THAT WAS SWISS VALLEY'S PLANT.

A SEARCH WAS NECESSARY YESTERDAY AND LAST NIGHT FOR A 13 YEAR OLD AUTISTIC BOY AT CAMP COURAGEOUS NEAR MONTICELLO.    HE WAS FOUND THIS MORNING, ABOUT 14 HOURS AFTER HE HAD GONE MISSING.   HE WAS FOUND
NEAR THE MAQUOKETA RIVER WHICH BORDERS
THE CAMP.    SCORES OF AGENCIES SEARCHED WITH RESCUE DOGS AND THE  PUBLIC.  THE BOY IS "NONVERBAL" SO AUTHORITIES AND CAMP STAFF LIKELY WON'T HAVE MUCH LUCK GETTING INFORMATION FROM HIM.    IT WAS THE FIRST TIME
A CAMPER HAS GONE MISSING AT THE CAMP.

A MAQUOKETA WOMAN WAS CHARGED AFTER SHE
PUT HER VEHICLE INTO THE DITCH AT 3:30 P.M.
ON HIGHWAY 61.    PAULETTE CRAFTON, AGE 49, WAS CHARGED WITH FAILURE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL.    SHE RAN OFF THE ROAD, CROSSED THE MEDIAN, AND WENT INTO THE DITCH.    NEITHER SHE OR HER PASSENGER WERE INJURED.
$1,500 DAMAGE TO THE 2006 CHEVY.

DYNAMIC IS ADDING ON TO THE OFFICE IN TOP PHOTO AND TO THE PLANT IN BOTTOM PHOTO.     FIFTY YEARS AGO, THAT SITE WAS MAQUOKETA'S  9-HOLE GOLF COURSE.

OF "VOLUNTEER" HALL.    EVERY TOWN OR CITY
IN THE COUNTY HAS ONE..... ON EITHER THIS BUILDING OR  SOMEWHERE ON THE GROUNDS.

A VANDALISM INCIDENT AND THEFT REPORTED TO THE MAQUOKETA LAW CENTER.    DIXIE DIETZMAN SAID YESTERDAY THAT HER VEHICLE HAD
BEEN KEYED WHILE PARKED AT WAL MART.
