RAIN RAIN RAIN TODAY.
AND THUNDER AND LIGHTNING.
WELL OVER AN INCH OF RAIN TODAY.

THE JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF DEPUTIES ARE INVESTIGATING AN ALLEGED METH LAB AND TWO YOUNG WOMEN WHO POSSIBLY OVERDOSED MONDAY MORNING ON 85TH STREET, NORTH OF MAQUOKETA.    
ACCORDING TO A SEARCH WARRANT FILED BY DEPUTY STEVE SCHROEDER
IN JACKSON COUNTY MAGISTRATE COURT, THE SEARCH WARRANT WAS FOR STEVE VAN HECKE WHERE HE LIVES AT 16075 - 84TH STREET.    DURING A SEARCH, OFFICERS FOUND TWO WOMEN IN BED IN AN UPSTAIRS LOFT THAT
STEVE VAN HECKE  LISTS AS HIS RESIDENCE.      THE WOMEN WERE
IDENTIFIED ON COURT DOCUMENTS AS LINDSAY GUENTHER AND KATIE
BOLLINGER.      FOUND IN THE RESIDENCE, A BAGGIE OF WHITE POWDER THAT FIELD TESTED POSITIVE FOR METHAMPHETAMINE.     GUENTHER
TOLD OFFICERS THE POWDER WAS HERS.    BOLLINGER BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AND THE MAQUOKETA AMBULACE AND RESCUE SQUAD
WERE CALLED TO ASSIST.    SHE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL HOSPITAL AND
THEN TRANSFERRED TO A DAVENPORT  HOSPITAL.   THE DEPUTY SAID
SEVERAL SEARCH WARRANTS AT THE PROPERTY WERE EXECUTED IN THE PAST 24 HOURS AND THEY FOUND MANY ITEMS TO MAKE METH, INDLUDING
AN LP TANK WHICH APPEARED TO  HAVE ANHYDROUS AMMONIA IN IT.
THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

A RURAL MAQUOKETA HOME WAS DAMAGED BY LIGHTNING THAT
RESULTED IN A FIRE, THIS MORNING.     THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AT 10 A.M. TO THE JAKE DENGER HOME ON 150TH STREET.       THE STRIKE
WAS APPARENTLY HIT THEIR TV TOWER AND THAT TRIPPED ALL BREAKERS
IN THE HOUSE.       WHEN FIREMEN ARRIVED, FLAMES WERE COMING
FROM A SECOND FLOOR OUTSIDE BEDROOM WALL.    THE FAMILY WAS HOME AND GOT OUT SAFELY.   ABOUT $20,000 IN DAMAGES.
