ST. MARK'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH "SHROVE TUESDAY" SUPPER WAS HELD LAST NIGHT AT THE CHURCH FELLOWSHIP HALL IN MAQUOKETA AND AFTER , AT 7 P.M., THE ANNUAL QUILT RAFFLE DRAWING DRAWING WAS HELD. THE QUILT IS SHOWN HERE, ALONG WITH JEAN HEISTER WHO MADE IT. JEAN, A LONGTIME EXPERT QUILT MAKER HAS BEEN DOING ONE ANNUALLY AS A FUND RAISER PROJECT FOR THE CHURCH. SHE SPENT ABOUT 10 WEEKS DOING IT. THIS ONE HAD EXTRA SPECIAL MEANING AS THE QUILT WAS MADE IN HONOR OF THE MEMORY OF BOBBIE WHITMER. THE QUILT WAS NAMED "BOBBIE'S BASKET". IT WAS MADE WITH LEFT OVER MATERIAL THAT BOBBIE (DECEASED) HAD NOT USED FOR HER QUILTING AND HER HUSBAND,
FORMER PASTOR AT ST. MARK'S (NOW LIVING IN DEWITT) DONATED THE MATERIAL FOR THIS YEAR'S QUILT MADE BY JEAN.
