MAQUOKETA HAS A 3RD-4TH GRADE TACKLE FOOTBALL TEAM, COACHED
BY DR. BUDDY ATIENZA.   THE 20-MEMBER TEAM IS PART OF A 15 TEAM
LEAGUE IN DUBUQUE, THAT ALSO INCLUDES SOME WISCONSIN TEAMS.
THIS PAST WEEKEND, THEY WON ANOTHER TOURNAMENT GAME AND
ARE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THIS COMING SUNDAY, AT 12:30 PM,  AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE FOOTBALL FIELD.    BUDDY HAS SIX
FATHERS AS ASSISTANT COACHES AND THEY PLAY IT JUST LIKE THE
NFL DOES.     IF THEY WIN SUNDAY, I'LL LIST THEIR NAMES HERE NEXT
MONDAY.

THE BELLEVUE MARQUETTE HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TEAM PLAYS IN THE STATE TOURNAMENT AT THE CEDAR RAPIDS ICE ARENA THIS THURSDAY NIGHT AT 7:30, AGAINST #2 RATED HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC OF FORT MADISON.
MATT CLARK WILL CALL THE MATCH ON KMAQ-FM AND OUR INTERNET
SITE AT 7:15 THIS THURSDAY NIGHT.   GO MOHAWKS! 

THE NEW HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOME JUST COMPLETED IN MAQUOKETA WILL HAVE A DEDICATION CEREMONY THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 2 AT 306 S. ELIZA STREET.          THE HOME IS FINISHED AND THRIVENT-BUILDS
AND HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WILL BE TURNING THE HOME OVER TO THE
GENAW FAMILY.    TOURS WILL BE GIVEN.    HABITAT DOES NOT DONATE HOMES TO FAMILIES.   THE FAMILY WILL HAVE A TRADITIONAL MORTGAGE.   AND THE FAMILY HAS ASSISTED COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS IN BUILDING
THE HOME.

THE CROSS WHICH WAS ON THE TOP OF THE FIRST UNITED METHODIST
CHURCH IN MAQUOKETA WAS REPAIRED AND  PUT BACK ON THE CHURCH
THIS MORNING.     A CRANE WAS USED.   SHEILA BENTLEY, CHURCH
SECRETARY, SID THE CROSS HAS BEEN DOWN FOR 5 YEARS.    IT WAS IN BAD SHAPE AND RUSTING.    THROUGH A BEQUEST FROM THE LATE HARLAN
TONDERUM, THE CROSS WAS SANDBLASTED AND REPAIRED AND RETURNED TODAY TO ITS ORIGINAL PLACE AT THE FRONT OF THE CHURCH, ON
THE HILL IN MAQUOKETA.

THE CITY COUNCIL HAS A LONG AGENDA FOR THEIR MEETING TONIGHT.
