GOOD RAIN THIS MORNING....9/10TH OF AN INCH.
HIGH TODAY 82.
MIGHT GET MORE RAIN TONIGHT AND TOMORROW AND UP TO
90 DEGREES BEFORE WEEKEND IS OVER.
THE RAIN WAS A BIG BOOST FOR CROPS.
BUT...THE BURN BAN CONTINUES.

MAQUOKETA-DEWITT TOURNAMENT BASEBALL GAME AT 7 TONIGHT...
ON KMAQ AM AND FM AND OUR INTERNET SITE.

THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY SERVICES STORE ON  NORTH MAIN IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA CLOSED TODAY AND THEY ARE MOVING THE
STORE TO THE FORMER ALDI'S GROCERY STORE BUILDING ON WEST PLATT, NOW OWNED BY DAC, INC. AND KNOWN AS THE DAC DAY SERVICE BUILDING.
IT IS THE LOCATION ALSO OF THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY CUPBOARD.
LOIS MELTON, A VOLUNTEER FOR THE STORE THAT IS MOVING, TOLD KMAQ NEWS THAT THE NEW LOCATION WILL PROVIDE A LARGER AND NICER SPACE FOR DISPLAYING ITEMS AND THERE WILL ALSO BE A STORAGE AREA TO THE REAR AND LOTS OF PARKING FOR CUSTOMERS.    MERCHANDISE IS
DONATED TO THE STORE AND PROFITS ARE USED TO HELP PEOPLE IN
NEED AND ALSO TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS.
IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN MAQUOKETA AFTER THE SALVATION ARMY LEFT TOWN ABOUT AT LEAST A DOZEN YEARS AGO.

THE WORD THIS WEEK IS THAT OBIE'S RESTAURANT IS MAQUOKETA WILL REOPEN IN SEPTEMBER.   WORK CONTINUES ON REBUILDING THE
RESTAURANT FOLLOWING THE BIG FIRE ON APRIL 23RD.    
PEOPLE ARE WAITING.

I WILL COME HERE TOMORROW MORNING WITH THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL SCORE.
