THE BOARD AWARDED $9,000 TO THREE GROUPS.
FRIENDS OF JACKSON COUNTY LIBRARIES GOT $5,000.
HURSTVILLE INTERPRETIVE CENTER, $3,500
AND
PREVENT CHILD ABUSE, $500.
THERE WERE 21 APPLICATIONS SEEKING MORE THAN $200,000.
TOM BREUCH, BOARD PRESIDENT, SAID THE ECONOMY IS HAVING A FINANCIAL IMPACT ON ORGANIZATIONS. SOME ORGANIZATIONS ARE SEEKING FUNDS FOR OPERATING EXPENSES, WHICH THE FOUNDATION DOES NOT FUND.
HE SAID BOARD MEMBERS MAKE THEIR DECISION BASED ON THE NUMBERS
IMPACTED IN JACKSON COUNTY BY A PROJECT OR INITIATIVE, SELF SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PROJECT AND LENGTH OF TIME A PROJECT WILL TAKE PLACE. THE NEXT GRANT DEADLINE IS JUNE 1ST.
