THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS APPROVED NEXT YEAR'S BUDGET WITHOUT AN INCREASE IN TAXES.
THE SUPERVISORS SAID YESTERDAY MORNING AT THEIR MEETING THAT TAXES RESIDENTS PAY MAY GO UP BECAUSE OF THE INCREASE IN ASSESSMENTS, BUT
NOT BECAUSE OF A TAX LEVY INCREASE.
ON THE POLICE BLOTTER:
JEFF DOYLE OF MAQUOKETA TOLD POLICE MONDAY THAT A GUITAR WAS STOLEN FROM HIS HOUSE TRAILER AT THE WOODLAND NORTH TRAILER COURT
ON NORTH MATTESON STREET.
AND JUDY ZISMER ON SOUTH 2ND STREET REPORTED THAT A FENCE ON
HER PROPERTY HAD BEEN DAMAGED.
THE MAQUOKETA "Y" ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT THEY HAVE REACHED $60,000
OF THEIR GOAL OF $72,000.....SO FAR.....TOWARD THEIR "PARTNER WITH YOUTH AND KIDS TO CAMP" CAMPAIGN. THE MONEY THAT IS RAISED GOES DIRECTLY TO THOSE IN NEED OF SCHOLARSHIPS.
A WEEK FROM TODAY, THE KMAQ TRAVEL BUS GOES TO THE CHICAGO
FLOWER AND GARDEN SHOW AT NAVY PIER. WE HAVE OVER 30 GOING
