60 DEGREES TODAY....MOSTLY SUNNY AND SOME WIND.
RAIN TOMORROW...AND SUNNY AND IN THE 70'S FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL WILL TAKE A LOOK AT HIRING ITS OWN
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR INSTEAD OF CONTRACTING THOSE SERVICES WITH THE MAQUOKEA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
LAST NIGHT, THE COUNCIL MET AND INSTRUCTED CITY MANAGER BRIAN
WAGNER TO TAKE A LOOK AT HIRING A FULL-TIME DIRECTOR FOR THE JOB.
WHAT PROMPTED THE DISCUSSION WAS STACY DRISCOLL RESIGNING
MONDAY AFTERNOON AS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DIRECTOR.
TOM DEVINE, PRESIDENT OF THE CHAMBER, WAS AT LAST NIGHT'S MEETING
AND SAIKD THAT HE WILL SHORTLY BE NAMED THE NEW CHAMBER DIRECTOR. HE WORKS FULL TIME FOR THE YMCA IN MAQUKETA AND SAID HE
WILL RESIGN FROM THAT POSITION. DRISCOLL WAS ALSO THE
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PERSON FOR THE COUNTY AND NO DEFINITE WORD YET FROM THE SUPERVISORS AS TO WHAT THE COUNTY WILL DO N OW.
