A MINOR ACCIDENT SATURDAY AFTERNOON IN MAQUOKETA. IN THE
FAREWAY PARKING LOT, MAVIS FLAGEL-BECHEL, 76, OF MAQUOKETA WAS BACKING FROM A PARKING SPACE AND STRUCK A CAR OPERATED BY
BRENDA DAGUE, 22, OF MAQUOKETA. NO INJURIES. NO CHARAGES.
COMBINED DAMAGE TO BOTH CARS, AROUND $350.
THE JACKSON COUNTY LANDFILL BOARD MEMBERS HAVE SETTLED AN EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT WITH ITS 4 EMPLOYEES. THE AGREEMENT
CALLS FOR A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH SALARY INCREASES OF 2 1/2
PERCENT THE FIRST 2 YEARS AND 3 PERCENT IN THE 3RD YEAR.
THEY WORK IN THE TRANSFER STATION NORTH OF ANDREW AND CURRENTLY
MAKE $16.83 AN HOUR AND WILL GO TO $17.25 STARTING JULY 1ST.'
THE THEFT OF A 4-WHEELER WAS REPORTED SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
BRIAN TABOR SAID SOMETIME IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, THE 2002
YAMAHA WAS TAKEN FROM A SHED ON THE TABOR FARM. THE VEHICLE
BELONGS TO TOM STERK OF BETTENDORF.
A GAS DRIVE-OFF SUNDAY EVENING AT LEN'S BP ON WEST PLATT.
AND 50 GALLONS OF GAS STOLEN FROM THE DAVE NIENSTEADT PROPERTY
ON 230TH AVENUE.
IOWA NATIVE AND INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN SINGER SIMON ESTES WILL
PRESENT A CONCERT AT THE NEW PERFORMING ARTS CENTER IN
DEWITT ON SUNDAY, MARCH 4TH, 1:30 P.M. $25 TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE
NOW AT THE DEWITT CITY HALL.
GOOD TURN OUT FOR THE 7 P.M. NEAL DIAMOND LEGENDS SHOW NEW YEAR'S
EVE AT THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER IN MAQUOKETA.....WELL OVER 500.....MOSTLY SENIORS. IT WAS OKAY.....I NEVER HAVE BEEN A BIG DIAMOND
FAN. I'M REALLY NOT A FAN OF "LEGENDS" SHOWS, PERIOD.
SO, SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE. OHNWARD HAS A LOT OF "LEGENDS" SHOWS
BOOKED FOR THIS YEAR.
