THE KMAQ BUS GOT HOME FROM NASHVILLE AT 7 LAST NIGHT, ENDING THE
FOUR DAY TRIP. THIRTY MADE THE 12-HOUR BUS TRIP WITH BEAUTIFUL FALL
WEATHER. SAW THE ROCKETTES CHRISTMAS SHOW (FABULOUS) , AND THE GRAND OLE OPRY AT THE RYMAN. VISITED PRESIDENT JACKSON'S HOME, AND THE COUNTRY HALL OF FAME MUSEUM. SAW THE HOLIDAY ICE SHOW WEARING PARKAS TO KEEP US WARM IN THE 9-DEGREE BUILDING AT THE OPYRLAND (75 ARTISTS FROM CHINA WERE FLOWN TO OPRYLAND TO CARVE THE DISNEY CHARACTERS IN A PERIOD OF 3-MONTHS). CRUISED THE CUMBERLAND RIVER THAT FLOODED NASHVILLE A YEAR AGO AND CAUSED BILLIONS OF DOLLARS DAMAGE (STILL WORKING THE THE OPRY MALL WHICH RE-OPENS IN APRIL). SAW THE LOUISE MANDREL CHRISTMAS SHOW AND ON BROADWAYS STREET, VISITED MANY OF THE HUNDRED OR SO BARS (MOST WITH "LIVE" MUSIC ) AND HAD A BEER AND SANDWICH AT THE "WILDHORSE", NASHVILLE'S MOST FAMOUS BAR AND RESTAURANT. NIGHTLIFE ON MUSIC ROW IS BUMPER-TO-BUMPER PEOPLE EVERY NIGHT, ALL HAVING A GREAT TIME IN THE MUSIC CAPITOL OF THE WORLD. NASHVILLE IS A FUN, MUSICAL PLACE.
THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN IN A VERY POPULAR, SMALL ICE-CREAM STORE DOWNTOWN. STOPPED THERE AFTER DINNER FOR A CONE AND RAN INTO TWO FELLOW KMAQ TRAVELERS, JANET TREKELL AND ARLENE McCUTCHEON, BOTH
OF MAQUOKETA. JANET AT LEFT, AND ARLENE AT RIGHT. NANCY MOORE
BETWEEN THEM. A YOUNG MAN AND HIS GIRLFRIEND CAME IN TO PAY
FOR SOME ROSES (BEING SOLD OUT FRONT ON THE SIDEWALK) AND WHILE
HE WAS PAYING, JANET SAID...."I'LL HOLD THOSE FOR YOU WHILE YOU PAY
FOR THEM". AND AS THE COUPLE LEFT, THEY HEARD SOME OTHER COMMENTS
ABOUT THE FLOWERS AND SMILED. A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE MAN CAME
BACK IN AND HANDS ALL THREE A ROSE. WERE THEY SURPRISED! SO, HAD TO
TAKE THIS PHOTO. MORE ON NASHVILLE COMING UP! IT'S A GREAT
CITY TO VISIT! WE HAD A GOOD TIME!
DON'T FORGET TO CHECK BELOW FOR THE STORY ON THE ROBBERY ATTEMPT
EARLY THIS MORNING AT FRANZEN'S RURAL MONMOUTH FARM HOME.
