GOT DOWN TO 21 LAST NIGHT. SUNNY TODAY AND HIGH OFF 43.

LAST NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA WRESTLERS OPENED THE SEASON IN A
DOUBLE DUAL AT MARION. THE CARDINALS LOST TO MARION, 44 TO 37
AND LOST TO CEDAR RAPIDS WASHINGTON 60 TO 12. THEY WILL
WRESTLE AGAIN IN THE CASCADE DUALS THIS SATURDAY.

THE CARDINAL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM LOST TO VINTON SHELLSBURG
LAST NIGHT, THERE, 53 TO 49.

HERE IN MAQUOKETA, THE CARDINAL GIRLS BEAT VINTON SHELLSBURG,
48 TO 42.

THERE WAS A RUMOR THE MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY CUPBOARD
WAS CLOSED FOR LACK OF MONEY AND FOOD. NOT SO. IT WAS JUST CLOSED
LAST WEEK BECAUSE OF THE HOLIDAY. BECAUSE OF THANKSGIVING (IT GAVE OUT TURKEYS ALSO) , THE SHELVES WERE ON THE BARE SIDE LAST WEEK AND FUNDS WERE WAY DOWN ALSO. THE MAQUOKETA MINISTERIAL
ASSOCIATION ADMINISTERS IT AND SAID TODAY A LARGE DEPOSIT WAS MADE THIS WEEK AS A RESULT OF GENEROUS DONATIONS MADE BY COMMUNITY
MEMBERS. HOWEVER, THE CUPBOARD IS IN NEED OF WEEK AFTER
WEEK DONATIONS TO SERVE AN AVERAGE OF 120 FAMILIES WEEKLY.
SO, IF YOU HAVE GIVEN, PLEASE GIVEN AGAIN WHEN YOU CAN AND
IF YOU HAVE NEVER GIVEN, MAKE OUT YOUR CHECK TO THE
COMMUNITY CUPBOARD AND MAIL IT OR LEAVE IT AT ANY CHURCH IN TOWN.
THE CUPBOARD IS OPEN EVERY FRIDAY FROM 9 UNTIL 11.

REPORTED HIS DAUGHTE'S BICYCLE TAKEN FROM THE BRIGG'S ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL. RED, WITH BLACK HANDLE BARS AND VALUED AT $10.

FIREMEN WERE CALLED TUESDAY NIGHT TO THE MATT AND LISA IRWIN
HOME ON SOUTH VERMONT.....NO FIRE.....WHAT WAS IN THE OVEN,
OVERHEATED. IT WAS MORE OF A PRECAUTIONARY CALL.

THE KMAQ-TRAVEL BUS HEADS FOR NASHVILLE TOMORROW MORNING
AND RETURNS SUNDAY NIGHT. SO, NO DAILY REPORT UNTIL MONDAY.
