HOUSE ON WEST MAPLE STREET. POLICE CHIEF BRAD KORANDA BELIEVES ROBBERY
WAS A POTENTIAL MOTIVE. KORANDA BELIEVES THE MAN THOUGHT HE WAS
ENTERING A VACANT HOME. HOWEVER, A YOUNG TEENAGE GIRL WAS INSIDE AND SHE CALLED HER DAD WHO THEN CALLED 9-1-1. THE MALE THEN TOOK OFF ON FOOT BEFORE AN OFFICER ARRIVED AT THE SCENE. THE GIRL TOLD POLICE HE HAD A KNIFE. HE WAS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MALE, AROUND 6-FEET TALL AND ABOUT 200 POUNDS. HE HAD A BROWN OR WHITE MUSTACHE. HE APPEARED TO BE ABOUT 40 ACCORDING TO THE GIRL AND WAS WEARING A BLACK HOOD AND OLIVE GREEN COAT. CHIEF KORANDA IS ASKING ANYONE WITH INFORMATION ABOUT THE PERSON OR WHO MIGHT HAVE SEE SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY IN THE AREA AROUND 7:30 THIS MORNING, TO
CALL THE MAQUOKETA POLICE DEPARTMENT.

IN MAQUOKETA THIS WEEKEND. IT WILL START AT 6 THIS FRIDAY NIGHT
