IT STARTED RAINING EARLY THIS MORNING AND RAINED (NOT HEAVY) MOST OF THE
DAY. NOW, THE SUN IS SHINING AND THE REST OF THE WEEK LOOKS VERY
GOOD. HIGH TODAY, 61.

SOME VANDALISM INCIDENTS OVER THE WEEKEND.
BOWMAN'S OIL BULK TANK WAS SPRAY PAINTED, SOMETIME THURSDAY NIGHT.
MERLYN YEAGER OF RURAL MAQUOKETA REPORTED FRIDAY THAT 100 FEET OF
WIRING FOR A GRAIN BIN WAS STOLEN.
BRANDI DEAN LEFT HER PURSE ON A LOCAL BAR TABLE, LEFT TO GO OUTSIDE FOR
A SMOKE AND WHEN SHE CAME BACK, IT WAS GONE.
ALSO...
KENNETH SMITH REPORTED HITTING A DEER LAST NIGHT AROUND 9 ON HIGHWAY 64.
DAVE GASSMAN REPORTED HITTING A DEAR SATURDAY MORNING.

THE MAQUOKETA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON TO THE DAVE LUETT FARM WHERE A SMALL CORN PICKER WAS FULLY ENGULFED
IN FLAMES AND WAS DESTROYED.

THE 3 NEW SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS WILL BE SWORN-IN TONIGHT AT THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD MEETING....MIKE HAYWARD, DAVID SYBESMA, AND DEB LANE.
