RUNWAY 500 FEET. THE PROJECT IS ABOUT A YEAR AWAY.

THE MAQUOKETA COUNTRY CLUB ANNUAL TOURNAMENT TO DETERMINE TOP GOLFERS
OF 2011 IS OVER.
IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHT, KENT RUPPERT DEFEATED DAVE DAVIS TO BECOME
THE MAQUOKETA COUNTRY CLUB'S 2011 CLUB CHAMPION.
THE FIRST FLIGHT WAS WON BY BRIAN HINTGEN, WHO DEFEATED LARRY DAVIS.
AND THE 2ND FLIGHT WAS WON BY TOM PETAROS, WINNING HIS MATCH OVER SAK
KLEIN.
AND IN LADIES GOLF...
THE 3-RIVERS TOURNAMENT WAS HELD AUGUST 13TH AT THE 3/30 CLUB IN LOWDEN.
FIRST PLACE WAS TAKEN BY LOWDEN. AND TAKING 2ND PLACE, THE MAQUOKETA
TEAM. FOR MAQUOKETA, THE MEDALIST WAS NICKY GOODALL.
THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL APPROVED A PERMIT TO ALLOW A CLASSIC CAR
SHOW ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA. COUNCILMAN
DON SCHWENKER ALONG WITH THE CORONADO CAR CLUB ARE PUTTING TOGETHER
A CLASSIC CAR SHOW. THE COUNCIL APPROVED CLOSING MAIN STREET FROM PLATT TO QUARRY STARTING AT 5 P.M. THE DECKER HOTEL PLANS TO HAVE A "LIVE"
BAND AND BEER GARDEN DURING THE EVENING, SO JAMES STREET FROM SECOND TO
MAIN STREET WILL BE CLOSED. SCHWENKER SAID THE EVENT WILL BE JUST
CARS AND MUSIC AND CRUISING. HE SAID KMAQ WILL BE PLAYING 50'S AND
60'S MUSIC DURING THE EVENING.
THE MAQUOKETA CARDINAL FOOTBALL TEAMS WILL BE HOSTING THEIR ANNUAL
"SPORTS DRINK" SCRIMMAGE TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT 5:30 P.M. AT GOODENOW
FIELD. COST FOR ADMISSION WILL BE TWO BOTTLES OF POWERADE OR GATORADE.
A CONCESSION STAND WILL BE OPEN AND T-SHIRTS AND OTHER CARDINAL ITEMS
WILL BE SOLD.
