88 THE HIGH TODAY.
LOTS OF RAIN AND MID-80'S TEMPS IN OUR FORECAST THROUGH FRIDAY.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, LOOKING VERY GOOD.
THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS HEARD A REPORT
TODAY ABOUT ADDING PANIC BUTTONS TO ALL OFFICES AT THE COURTHOUSE
IN MAQUOKETA. THE COST IS EXPECTED TO BE CLOSE TO $10,000.
THE SUPERVISORS SAID THE MONEY IS IN THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
FUND FOR THE COURTHOUSE.
LITTLE BEAR PARK WAS IN THE NEW AGAIN TODAY. THE COUNCIL
STILL WANTS TO SELL IT TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AS IT IS NEXT TO
BRIGGS SCHOOL AND IT IS THE FEELING THE SCHOOL KIDS USE IT THE
MOST. IT IS AROUND 20 YEARS OLD AND THE WOOD IS GETTING OLD
AND SOME PARTS OF THE PARK ARE UNSAFE.
FIRST WARD PARK HAS A PLASTIC -TYPE STRUCTURE BUT WHENEVER I
GO PAST THE PARK, OFTEN, IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING LITTLE OR NO
USE.
SHORT REPORT TODAY...SORRY.
DENNIS VOY
