PRESENTED A THREE-PAGE OUTLINE OF AREAS HE WILL ADDRESS.....TO
DEAL WITH HIGH UTILITY RATES IN MAQUOKETA AS DISCOVERED IN A RECENT STUDY. THE STUDY WAS TAKEN AFTER MANY CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS.
HE HAS STARTED SOME COST SAVING MEASURES ALREADY AND OTHERS
WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE JULY MEETING OF THE BOARD.
SELLING THE BIG ENGINES OVERSEAS IS ONE POSSIBILITY.

UNEMPLOYMENT RATES IN IOWA DROPPED AGAIN IN MAY, COMPARED TO
APRIL. THE STATE'S RATE REMAINED THE SAME AT 6 PERCENT.
BUT MANY COUNTIES WERE LOWER, INCLUDING IN JACKSON COUNTY.
JACKSON COUNTY WENT DOWN TO 6.5 PERCENT, FROM 7.1 IN APRIL.
