TODAY, SUNNY AND A HIGH OF 27.
VERY COLD WEATHER, BUT NO SNOW, THE NEXT 3 DAYS. STARTING FRIDAY,
WARMER AND IN MID 30'S BOTH THIS SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

IN SPORTS, THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS HOST WESTERN DUBUQUE TONIGHT.
LAST FRIDAY NIGHT, THE GIRLS BEAT RANKED SOLON AT SOLON, 41 TO 29.
THEN SATURDAY NIGHT, AT HOME, THEY LOST TO MONTICELLO 48 TO 29.
GOING INTO ACTION TONIGHT, THEY ARE 9 AND 10 OVERALL.
THE BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FRIDAY NIGHT, LOST TO RANKED SOLON, 40 TO 20 AND
SATURDAY NIGHT, THE BOYS BEAT MONTICELLO 47 TO 39. THEIR OVERALL
RECORD TODAY IS 7 AND 10.
THE MAQUOKETA WRESTLERS WERE IN THE SECTIONALS SATURDAY AND
FIVE CARDINALS WILL ADVANCE TO DISTRICT WRESTLING THIS COMING
SATURDAY. THEY ARE: SHILOH AND DAKOTA SNYDER, CHRISTIAN FLENKER,
HAVEN MILLER AND JOSH HOLTZ. THE 1ST AND 2ND PLACE WRESTLERS
THIS SATURDAY AT WEST LIBERTY WILL GO TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT
IN DES MOINES.

THE 66TH ANNUAL MAQUOKETA USBC MEN'S CITY BOWLING TOURNAMENT
CONCLUDED OVER THE WEEKEND AFTER 10 DAYS OF BOWLING.
THE TOP TEAM (3448) WAS "I DON'T KNOW TEAM" AND ITS MEMBERS ARE
CHAD WEIRUP, CHRISTOPHER WEIRUP, RANDY WEIRUP, DENNY GLASER AND
JOHN DAEHLER. THE DOUBLES CHAMPS (1,432) ARE BRIAN SHEA AND RON PAULSEN.
MIKE VARNER (755 WITH HANDICAP) TOOK THE SINGLES CATEGORY. ALL EVENTS SCRATCH (2,116)JASON GIBSON AND ALL EVENTS, HANDICAP (2,136) MIKE VARNER.
