WE GOT SOME WELCOME RAIN OVER THE WEEKEND....1 AND 1/2 INCHES.
THAT WAS THE FIRST RAIN OF THE MONTH.

TODAY, BREEZY, MOSTLY CLOUDY AND IN 60'S. ONE COLD DAY COMING
THIS WEEK....IN MID 40'S THURSDAY.

A MAQUOKETA MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC MACHINE SANK IN SOME SOFT GROUND
THIS MORNING AND TIPPED INTO A HOME AT 414 SOUTH JONES, CAUSING
SOME STRUCTURAL DAMAGE. NO ONE WAS HURT. THE PATH USED BY THE MACHINE HAS BEEN USED BEFORE, BUT THIS TIME, THE RAIN OVER THE WEEKEND
CAUSED THE SOIL TO BE SOFT AND CAUSED THE EQUIPMENT TO TIP INTO THE HOUSE.
THE MISHAP WILL BE COVERED BY MMEU INSURANCE.

A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT JUST BEFORE NOON SATURDAY ON WEST PLEASANT STREET. LARRY DERGANZ, 61, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS EAST BOUND WHEN ASHLEY
WALLANDER, 18, OF MAQUOKETA PULLED FROM A DRIVEWAY AND STRUCK THE SIDE OF THE DERGANZ TRUCK. WALLANDER WAS CHARGED.

TWO AREA RESIDENTS WERE CHARGED AFTER BEING ACCUSED OF SHOPLIFTING AT THE WAL MART STORE IN MAQUOKETA. ONE TOOK ITEMS VALUED AT $34 AND WAS ALSO CHARGED AT THE SAME TIME WITH PUBLIC INTOXICATION.
AND ALSO SATURDAY, THE OTHER FROM DELMAR, TOOK ITEMS WORTH $115.
IN BOTH CASES, THE ITEMS WERE PUT INTO THEIR PURSE.

CHARGES WERE FILED AFTER TWO WOMAN GOT INTO A FIGHT AROUND 10:30 FRIDAY NIGHT AT BILL'S TAVERN IN MAQUOKETA.

TOURNAMENT VOLLEYBALL IN MAQUOKETA TONIGHT. MAQUOKETA HOSTS
DEWITT.

300 GAME LAST WEEK AT TIMBER LANES?

THE NEW 2011 BROUCHURE CAME OUT LAST WEEK.

MAQUOKETA, DEWITT, AND PRESTON WILL ALL BE IN THE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS
THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

THE GIANTS AGAINST THE COWBOYS TONIGHT ON NETWORK TV. I MENTION THIS TO REMIND YOU THAT MAQUOKETA'S SAGE ROSENFELS IS ON THE GIANTS
TEAM.
