BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY TODAY...HIGH OF 80.   NICE BREEZE.
REST OF WEEK SHOULD BE PRETTY GOOD.

THEY STARTED HAULING THE CORNER BUILDING DEBRIS AWAY THIS AFTERNOON.
SEE PHOTOS BEFORE IT WAS COMPLETELY DOWN.

AND RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET, THE BUILDING THAT WAS PECKOSH LAW OFFICE, AND WILL SOON BE A COFFEE SHOP.....IS TODAY GETTING A NEW PAINT JOB...
GOING FROM GREEN TO RED.

AN 18 YEAR OLD SAVANNA, ILLINOIS MAN WAS KILLED AS THE RESULT OF A  CAR-ATV ACCIDENT AT 8:15 LAST NIGHT, NORTHEAST OF MILES.      HE WAS DRIVING THE ATV AND THE CAR WAS DRIVEN BY A MILES MAN AND THE TWO COLLIDED AT THE CREST OF A HILL.    THE ATV CAUGHT FIRE UPON IMPACT.       THE DRIVER OF THE 95 PONTIAC WAS NOT HURT.

TODAY BOWMAN OF MAQUOKETA  GOT 1,588  VOTES.....BRIAN MOORE OF ZWINGLE, 714.....ED O'NEILL OF CLINTON GOT 230 VOTES AND PAUL FELLER OF CLINTON, 54 VOTES..... IN YESTERDAY'S DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY ELECTION.      BOWMAN WILL FACE REPUBLICAN ANDREW NAEVE IN NOVEMBER AND THE WINNER WILL REPLACE
SENTATOR ROGER STEWART OF PRESTON IN THE IOWA SENATE.

FORMER GOV. TERRY BRANSTAD WON THE REPUBLICAN CONTEST FOR GOVERNOR
AND WILL NOW RUN AGAINST GOVERNOR CULVER  IN NOVEMBER.    BRANSTAD
SERVED FOR 5 TERMS BEFORE.       ROXANNE CONLIN, A DES MOINES ATTORNEY,
WON THE DEMOCRATIC CONTEST FOR U.S. SENATOR AND WILL OPPOSE LONGTIME
SENATOR GRASSLEY IN NOVEMBER.      THAT SHOULD BE AN INTERESTING RACE.
CONLIN RAN FOR GOVERNOR YEARS AGO,  HAS A LOT OF MONEY SHE CAN SPEND ON HER CAMPAIGN AND WILL BE TRYING TO BE IOWA'S FIRST U.S. SENATOR.
AND, IF THEY GENERAL ELECTION WOULD BE HELD NOW, BRANSTAD WOULD
PROBABLY DEFEAT CULVER.    THIS WILL ALSO BE AN INTERESTING RACE.

FATHER'S DAY IS GETTING CLOSE!     GET THAT CARD YET?
