PARTY CLOUDY AND 67 TODAY.
GOOD WEATHER FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK IS PREDICTED.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING AT 7 TONIGHT.     ON THE AGENDA, A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY FACILITIES GRANT PROGRAM SEEKING
FUNDING FOR CITY HALL IMPROVEMENTS, A FIRE TRUCK AND LIBRARY COMPUTERS.
ALSO ON AGENDA, THE DOWNTOWN CLEAN-UP, GROVE STREET BALL DIAMONDS,
CAMPER PADS AT HORSESHOE POND CAMPGROUND, AND RUNNING ELECTRIC
TO THE NEW CAMPSITES.    PAVING OF THE TRUCK STOP PARKING LOT WILL ALSO
BE DISCUSSED.

THE STATE TRACK TOURNAMENT IS LATER THIS WEEK.
SENIOR TYLER RUTENBECK HAS QUALIFIED IN TWO INDIVIDUAL EVENTS.....
THE 200 METER DASH AND THE 400 METER DASH.
ALSO GOING TO STATE, JUNIOR JEREMIAH GERARDY IN THE 3200 METER RUN.
AND AT THE DISTRICT IN MARION FRIDAY NIGHT, THE CARDINAL 4 BY 100 METER RELAY TEAM SET A SCHOOL RECORD IN TAKING FIRST PLACE.   ON THAT TEAM, SENIOR BRYN GISEL, SENIOR JAKE KIRK, SOPHOMORE JON BOPES AND SENIOR
TYLER RUTENBECK.    THEIR TIME FRIDAY NIGHT WAS 43.43.

ON THE GIRL'S SIDE, MAQUOKETA'S LAURA OSTERHAUS FINISHED FIRST IN THE
HIGH JUMP FRIDAY, CLEARING THE BAR AT 5 FEET, 2 INCHES.   SHE ALSO GOES TO STATE IN DES MOINES THIS WEEK.   HER BEST EFFORT IS 5-FEET, 4 INCHES.
