CLOUDY TODAY...HIGH 28....SUN COMING BACK TOMORROW.
CULLIGAN WATER CONDITIONING IN MAQUOKETA WILL BE CLOSING MONDAY...LOCATED ON SOUTH JONES. IT HAS BEEN HERE FOR OVER 50 YEARS.
IT IS OWNED BY A CLINTON, IOWA FIRM AND THE MAQUOKETA OPERATION WILL
BE ABSORBED BY THE CLINTON STORE. THERE HAVE BEEN 3 EMPLOYEES
IN MAQUOKETA AND TECHNICIAN KENNY CLASEN HAS ACCEPTED A TRANSFER AND WILL CONTINUE WORKING IN MAQUOKTA, BUT OUT OF THE CLINTON OFFICE.
CLAYTON AND BONNIE TURNER OF MAQUOKETA OWNED THE BUSINESS IN THE LATE 40'S AND 50'S AND THEN SOLD IT TO US WATER, THEN SOLD TO US FILTER AND THEN TO THE VETTER FIRM WHICH HAS STORES IN CLINTON, THE QUAD CITIES,
BURLINGTON, WASHINGTON AND CORALVILLE. THE BAD PART OF COURSE IS THAT
TWO PEOPLE LOST THEIR JOB HERE IN MAQUOKETA AND WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER EMPTY BUILDING IN MAQUOKETA.
THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM TONIGHT WILL HOST WEST DELAWARE AND THE BOYS ARE AT MANCHESTER AGAINST WEST DELAWARE.
THE WRESTLERS WILL BE IN THE DECORAH DUALS TOURNAMENT TOMORROW.
HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND.
DENNIS VOY
