IOWA LT. GOV. PATTY JUDGE BROUGHT HER "TRAVEL IOWA" TOUR TO MAQUOKETA THIS AFTERNOON, WITH A ONE-HOUR STOP AT THE OLD CITY HALL GALLERY, WHERE ARTIST ROSE FRANTZEN AND HER HUSBAND CHUCK MORRIS SERVED AS HER TOUR
GUIDES. NANCY LANDES, DIRECTOR OF THE IOWA TOURISM OFFICE ACCOMPANIED
JUDGE. ONLY A FEW CITIZENS SHOWED UP TO MEET PATTY JUDGE.
FROM MAQUOKETA, SHE WENT TO CLINTON.

THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIRBOARD WANTS TO PURCHASE SOME NEW BENCHES TO REPLACE THE WELL-USED WOODEN BENCHES. THE NEW ONES WOULD BE THERMOPLASTIC-COATED STEEL BENCHES MOUNTED ON CEMENT SLABS.
DONATIONS OF $600 PER BENCH WILL BE WELCOME. ONE OF THE BENCHES WILL
BE ON DISPLAY DURING THE FAIR, JULY 29TH THRU AUGUST 2ND.

THE MAQUOKETA BOYS BASEBALL TEAM DEFEATED MARION TWICE IN
YESTERDAY'S DOUBLEHEADER.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS ARE IN TOURNAMENT ACTION TOMORROW NIGHT AT 7 AND THEIR GAME WILL BE BROADCAST ON KMAQ AM AND FM (AND ON
YOUR COMPUPTER OR LAP T OP) STARTING AROUND 6:50 P.M.
