A MAQUOKETA MAN WAS INJURED IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT SATURDAY NIGHT WHILE DRIVING WEST ON HIGHWAY 64. AARON BENNETT, AGE 18, HIT AN ICE PATCH AND WENT OFF THE ROAD, HIT AN EMBANKMENT AND OVERTURNED. TAKEN TO THE MAQUOKETA HOSPITAL BY PRIVATE VEHICLE AND DAMAGES AROUND $3,500 TO HIS 98 SATURN.
ALSO, JACKSON COUNTY DEPUTY RANDY MANNING HIT A DEER WITH HIS SQUAD CAR FRIDAY AFTERNOON ON HIGHWAY 64. MINOR DAMAGE TO THE JEEP SQUAD CAR.

ON THE POLICE BLOTTER, ATTNORNEY MARK LAWSON REPORTED SATURDAY MORNING THAT SOMEONE SHOT THE FRONT WINDOW OF HIS OFFICE WITH A BB GUN AND CRACKED THE GLASS...THAT WAS AT 114 WEST PLATT ST.
AND DOUG WESTPHAL REPORTED ON NEW YEAR'S DAY THAT SOMEONE TOOK $200 IN CASH FROM HIS LOCKED LOCKER AT THE YMCA IN MAQUOKETA.
