BRIGHT AND SHINY SATURDAY MORNING!
MAQUOKETA LOST THEIR HOMECOMING GAME TO DEWITT LAST NIGHT,
42 TO 20. IT WAS 42 TO 0 AT THE HALF. THE SABERS REALLY LOOKED
GOOD AS THEY IMPROVED THEIR RECORD TO 6 AND 0. THEY WERE RANKED
3RD IN THE STATE THIS WEEK AND WILL PROBABLY MOVE UP NEXT WEEK.
GOOD WEATHER AND A GOOD CROWD FOR THE GAME.
THURSDAY NIGHT, SOME DEWITT STUDENTS DID SOME VANDALISM AT GOODENOW FIELD....ESTIMATED ABOUT $700 IN DAMAGES. THEY TEEPEED THE FIELD AND
PAINTED "SABERS" A COUPLE TIMES ON THE CONCESSION BUILDING.
THE MESS WAS QUICKLY CLEANED UP FRIDAY MORNING AND THE BUILDING WALL WAS REPAINTED, BUT MAY REQUIRE NEW SIDING. THEY ALSO DID A COUPLE THINGS AT THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL. DEWITT SCHOOL OFFICIALS
ALREADY KNOW WHO DID IT AND ARE COOPERATING WITH MAQUOKETA POLICE WHO MAKE SOME ARRESTS AFTER INTERVIEWS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.
THE MAQUOKETA HOMECOMING DANCE IS TONIGHT.
