MOSTLY CLOUDY DAY TODAY....A HALF-INCH OF RAIN THIS MORNING AND A HIGH
TODAY OF 64.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRL'S SOFTBALL TEAM WON A DOUBLE-HEADER OVER WATERLOO COLUMBUS LAST NIGHT, 1 TO 0 AND 7 TO 0 AND IMPROVED THEIR RECORD TO 7 AND 1 AND 6 AND 0 IN THE CONFERENCE.
THE MAQUOKETA BOYS BASEBALL TEAM IS OFF TO A BAD START. LAST NIGHT,
THEY LOST A DOUBLE-HEADER TO WATERLOO COLUMBUS, 12 TO 7 AND 11 TO 1 AND THEIR RECORD IS NOW 1 AND 10 AND 0 AND 6 IN THE WAMAC.

THE NEW CONCRETE PARKING LOT AT THE JACKSON COUNTY SENIOR CENTER IN MAQUOKETA (NEARING COMPLETION) WAS VANDALIZED AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME
IT WILL NOT HAVE TO BE RE-DONE.

MAQUOKETA POLICE OFFICERS AND DISPATCHERS WILL RECEIVE 3.75 PERCENT
PAY INCREASES STARTING IN JULY AND OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS.
THE CITY COUNCIL LAST NIGHT APPROVED THE AGREEMENT.

THE NEW DOWNTOWN FLOWER POTS WITH FLOWERS PLANTED BY THE MAQUOKETA MASTER GARDNERS, LOOK GREAT. BUT, THEY WILL LOOK BETTER WHEN THE
FIRE MESS IS HAULED AWAY.....HOPEFULLY VERY SOON.
